The Rev. Shawn Kang is the Central Region associate for 1001 New Worshiping Communities. In this position, Shawn is a resource for new worshiping communities and leaders in 15 states and 43 presbyteries. He also takes the lead in our innovative Pathways program, which supports presbytery ecosystems around the country focused on starting and supporting new worshipping communities.
Shawn joined the 1001 church-planting initiative in 2017 and is amazed at the number of new, creative and Spirit-filled communities that have started. Shawn is eager to continue the tremendous work being done through the 1001 initiative.
Shawn and his wife, Sanghee, a research nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center, have three daughters: Samantha, Sarah, and Sophia.
